Nick Jonas is continuing to promote his new movie Power Ballad.
The 33-year-old actor and singer attended a tastemaker screening of the film at the Linwood Dunn Theater on Thursday (May 28) in Los Angeles.
Nick was joined at the event by Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Justin Tranter, a longtime collaborator who has worked with the Jonas Brothers star on multiple projects over the years.
For the screening, Nick opted for a casual, streetwear-inspired look that appeared to include Polo Ralph Lauren‘s Burgundy Corduroy Bomber Jacket, paired with a button-down shirt, dark-wash jeans, and leather boots.
Earlier this week, Nick‘s co-star Paul Rudd admitted to People that he felt nervous about singing alongside the musician in the movie.
“I’d sung in movies before, but it was always silly — you get a lot of leeway. This was real, actual singing. I was doing it with you and [writer-director-producer] John Carney, who’s a musician himself. This job is always nerve-wracking. Acting, singing — you’re putting yourself out there, so you close your eyes and jump in the deep end.”
In the film, Paul plays Rick, a past-his-prime wedding singer who performs at a wedding attended by Nick‘s character, Danny, a former boy band member.
The two characters form an unlikely bond, but things take a dramatic turn when Danny steals one of Rick’s songs. The track becomes a massive hit, reviving Danny’s career and setting Rick on a path of revenge.
