Russell Crowe is back in action in the newly released trailer for his upcoming thriller The Get Out.

The film reunites the 62-year-old Oscar winner with director Derrick Borte, marking their second collaboration after the 2020 thriller Unhinged.

In The Get Out, Russell stars as a nightclub owner who is ready to leave his dangerous past behind and settle into retirement with his girlfriend, played by Teresa Palmer. However, those plans quickly unravel when masked gunmen arrive and a web of criminal threats begins to close in around him.

What is The Get Out about?

Distributor Vertical Entertainment released the official synopsis for the movie:

A nightclub owner (Russell Crowe) is on the verge of leaving his dangerous past behind for retirement with his girlfriend (Teresa Palmer). When masked gunmen (Nina Dobrev, Aaron Paul) rob him and he finds himself squeezed by ruthless cartels, a mysterious newcomer (Luke Evans) arrives with an interest in buying the business. With danger closing in from all sides, he must navigate a deadly web of deception, power, and survival  –  where escape may no longer be an option.

In addition to directing the project, Derrick Borte co-wrote the screenplay alongside Daniel Forte. The film is based on the novel Strip by Thomas Perry.

The Get Out is scheduled to arrive in select theaters on June 26, 2026, followed by a digital and VOD release on June 30, 2026.

Russell Crowe went viral earlier this week

The trailer debut comes just days after Russell made headlines for a viral video involving autograph seekers. In the clip, the actor can be heard saying, “Are you listening? Stay where you are, don’t f-king push in on me and I’ll come to you,” among other things.

After the video circulated online, Russell addressed some of the criticism on social media.
