Callum Turner is opening up about Bond, James Bond.
The 36-year-old actor is one of several names that has been floated around to be the next 007 in the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios reboot of the iconic film franchise.
During a recent profile and interview, Callum addressed the rumors he could be the next James Bond, and he even opened up about his now wife Dua Lipa.
What Callum Turner said about James Bond
“I know as much as you do — really, I know as much as you do,” he mused to The Hollywood Reporter.
When asked if he was interested in it if it was offered to him, he laughed and said, “I’m not going to comment on that.”
While he remains coy on the subject, his The Boys in the Boat director, George Clooney, thinks he should be the next James Bond!
“I hope Callum ends up being the next Bond. I think he would be a great Bond,” the actor and director told the publication. “He’s tall and handsome and charming and British, so he’s the perfect guy to do it.”
Later, when Callum was asked about dream directors to work with, he smirked and said, “You want me to say Denis?”
This is in reference to Dune‘s Denis Villeneuve, who is set to direct the next Bond movie.
What Callum Turner said about Dua Lipa
“You want to be inspired by the person you’re with,” he mused with THR.
Callum and Dua are both very busy entertainers in their respective fields, so how do they juggle their scheduleds?
“We make sure that we’re together as much as possible,” the actor states.
Later, while talking about a night out with friends, he revealed, “Dua beat them all at backgammon. She’s a killer at backgammon.”
Callum also shared about their love of art, including a recent movie they watched together.
“Dua and I both have a pretty strong pool of art that we love and draw upon and share with each other,” he said.
Recently, they watched One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest after browsing their streaming queue.
“It was the first time she’d seen it, and I was like, ‘There are some famous faces here — let me see if you can guess them,’” he mused, laughing at himself. “I was such a dickhead about it: ‘I’ve seen this film before, so see if you can notice these things!’“
