Michael J. Fox will star in a new animated movie!

The 65-year-old Back to the Future star will voice an adorable character named Dougie in the upcoming CG animated feature Dragoons from Icon Creative Studios. Dougie is one of the leading roles.

Per the official description (via Variety), Dougie is “an overlooked, ordinary worker at WizCorp — that is, until a freak accident awakens something extraordinary within his new apprentice Dart. Transformed into a mighty dragon, Dougie and Dart uncover an impossible truth: their kind were once legendary rulers of the skies, until the ruthless wizard-CEO Hex shrank them, erased their memories, and stole their power to build his empire. With this new truth in front of their eyes, and in their hearts, Dougie and Dart must find the courage to rise, awaken their kind, and prove that even the smallest spark can light up the sky.”

Michael has previously taken a step back from acting due to the advancement of Parkinson’s disease, but he still does projects on occasion, such as appearing in a few episodes of the Apple TV show Shrinking and a voice cameo in Zootopia 2.

Shea Wageman, who is the President of Icon Creative Studio also issued a statement, “Michael J. Fox is Dougie. From the moment we began developing this character, we knew we needed a voice that could carry both immense warmth and unshakeable spirit. Michael brings all of that and more. He gives Dougie a soul that audiences of every age will root for from the first frame to the last.”

The studio is also working on Charlie the Wonderdog starring Owen Wilson. The company has partnerships with Netflix, Apple TV, Warner Bros. Paramount, Sony, Disney, and more.

Last year, Michael reflected on a specific firing from Back to the Future.

Barbra Streisand is set to be honored at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, but she will no longer be attending the ceremony.

The 84-year-old icon will sadly not be there to accept her honorary Palme d’Or at the closing ceremony of the film festival due to a knee injury.

“On the advice of my doctors, as I continue recovering from a knee injury, I am sadly unable to attend the Festival de Cannes this year,” she shared in a statement, via Variety.

“But I am deeply honored to receive the honorary Palme d’Or and had so been looking forward to celebrating the remarkable films of the 79th edition.”

“I was also very much looking forward to spending time with colleagues whom I so admire — and, of course, returning to France, a place I have always loved. While I regret that I can’t be there in person, I want to extend my warmest congratulations to all of the filmmakers from around the world whose extraordinary talent and creative vision are being celebrated this year,” the statement continues.

“My heartfelt thanks to the Festival, and to everyone who continues to support and champion the art of cinema.”

The tribute will still happen on May 23.

Iris Knobloch, Thierry Frémaux and the entire festival team send Barbra Streisand their warmest wishes for a prompt recovery,” the festival said in a press release.

Barbra will be the third person to get an honorary Palme d’Or in 2026, including Peter Jackson and John Travolta.

If you missed it, Jane Fonda recently questioned why Barbra got to do Robert Redford‘s In Memoriam tribute at the 2026 Oscars, when she worked with him more often.
