Shakira is finally talking about her ex years after he allegedly cheated on her… and what she has to say might surprise you!
On Friday, The Times of London published an interview with the Hips Don’t Lie singer where she offered a rare — and surprisingly positive — comment about the father of her children Gerard Piqué. Despite everything he’s allegedly put her through, the pop star told the outlet:
“I will always have that gratitude in my heart for the father of my kids and [for] turning me into the mother that I am today.
Awww! Together, Shakira and the retired soccer pro share sons Milan, 13, and Sasha, 11.
For those who aren’t in the know, the now-exes split up in 2022 amid reports Gerard cheated on the TQG singer with now-girlfriend Clara Chía Martí. Remember the infamous jam story?? Who could ever forget! Definitely not Shakira… On their split, Shakira described it to the outlet as “the darkest moment” where she “saw the dissolution of my family, the family that I had dreamt to keep forever.”
How sad! She went on:
“I’ve been through so much pain, but it has made me perhaps in an unforeseen way a wiser person — or stronger, at least. They say that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and it is true. It’s amazing to learn that humans have a resilience that we can resort to at any moment in our lives. Sometimes through hardships and through pain is how we discover how strong we can be. Suffering sometimes makes you a better person, makes you value friends and support.”
Such wise words!
According to Shakira, Adele and Chris Martin were two of her famous friends that stepped in to offer support. The latter apparently sent her a photo of a broken vase glued back together with gold and referenced the Japanese artform Kintsugi:
“Kintsugi — you’re going to be so much stronger once this is over.”
Very sweet!
The Waka Waka singer further reflected to the outlet:
“Life sometimes can be a b**ch, but it’s also beautiful and made of light and shadows. So I thank life for every single moment, the bright ones and the dark ones, the people who have made me suffer because they have become my masters who have taught me lessons, very valuable lessons.”
What an optimistic way to view things! Certainly a step forward from her 2024 interview with the outlet, in which she’d only refer to Gerard as Voldemort! Ha!
As for her love life, the mom-of-two noted she’s currently just focused on raising the boys and advancing her career:
“Oh no, no romance for me for now. There’s no space or time in my life for that. My plate is quite full. My kids are my priority. And my career. Strangely enough, I’m in love with my career like I’ve never been in my life. I’m enjoying my time alone as well.”
In due time!
We’re so happy Shakira has reached a point of such peace after her messy split.

The trend of running businesses from home is gaining traction across the U.S. According to StartupNation, there are roughly 19 million home-based businesses in the country. In fact, a whopping 50% of all businesses kick off from home. These small enterprises are responsible for nearly all the net job growth in America. Running a home-based business might seem like a dream come true. It includes no long commutes, flexible hours, and the comfort of your own space. However, as you get started, you soon find that it presents its own unique challenges. Finding the right balance of time management and concentration can be tricky.
However, with a positive attitude and some handy tips, you can transform the challenges into stepping stones for success. This article highlights strategies to help you overcome the unique challenges of operating a home-based business.
Create Physical and Mental Boundaries
When running a business from home, it is crucial to set clear boundaries, both physically and mentally. Without these boundaries, work can easily creep into every aspect of your day. Consider starting by establishing a dedicated workspace, even if it’s just a small desk tucked away in your spare bedroom. This arrangement sends a clear message to your brain that when you’re in that area, it’s time to concentrate on your tasks.
An Entrepreneur states that neglecting to set boundaries can lead to burnout. This, in turn, impacts decision-making, creativity, and overall productivity. Achieving a healthy work-life balance is a game-changer for entrepreneurs. It re-energizes them and enables them to remain resilient and productive in the long term.
Steer clear of checking emails late at night or letting those unfinished tasks hang around in your thoughts. You can set up simple rituals, such as shutting down your laptop or going for a quick walk, to mark the end of your day. These small habits can help you stay focused during work hours and unwind afterward, keeping burnout at bay.
Commit to Financial Discipline
Sticking to financial discipline is vital when managing a home-based business. It can be all too easy to mix up your personal and business finances, especially when everything is happening under the same roof. You should be intentional about creating a clear budget, tracking all your expenses, and keeping your accounts as separate as possible.
As your business expands, you may need to organize events to promote your services or connect with clients. Exploring event rental spaces can be a smart way to reduce your arrangement costs. Branding also deserves attention, even if you do not have a conventional business.
Pens.com notes that you can give away attractive promotional products to build your brand without overspending. These giveaways create personal connections with potential buyers, even if you don’t have a formal office or retail space.
You must save during your busier months, so you have a financial cushion when things slow down. Keep an eye on unnecessary expenses and prioritize investments that genuinely help you grow. Staying consistent and being mindful of your finances establishes a stable base that allows your business to succeed over time.
Ensure Legal Compliance for Home-Based Business
While maintaining legal compliance may not be the most exciting part of operating a home-based business, it is necessary for your success. According to Investopedia, every business, even those run from home, is required to obtain a local business license from the city or county. With this license, you can operate your business in that area. It is essential to ensure that your business is in line with local zoning laws.
Ensure that your company is properly licensed, registered, and compliant with all relevant regulations. When working from home, you may overlook these issues, yet doing so can eventually result in fines or needless stress. It is a wise decision to comprehend the fundamental legal needs to safeguard your personal and corporate assets.
Stay updated on taxes, contracts, and any industry-specific regulations that pertain to your work. When you take care of the legal aspects responsibly, you build trust with your clients and lay down a solid foundation for your business. It allows you to focus on expanding your business with both confidence and peace of mind.
Build Strong Networks
Creating strong networks is vital for anyone running a home-based business. The University of San Diego Knauss School of Business emphasizes that building a strong network involves much more than just having a directory of contacts. Connecting with a wide range of professionals unlocks opportunities for innovative partnerships and smarter decision-making. These shared foundations often lead to stronger, more meaningful connections.
Focusing on genuine relationships is key, rather than just looking for immediate gains. Moreover, staying connected can open up new doors for opportunities, ideas, and support. So, engage with others in your industry through online forums, social media, or local meetups. These connections can help you stay inspired and informed.
Make an effort to communicate, collaborate, and add value to others whenever possible. Whether it’s working together on projects or exchanging helpful advice, a solid network can be a great source of encouragement during tough times. Staying connected means you’re building a support system that makes your journey smoother and more rewarding.
