Amy Duggar King does not care if her cousin Joseph Duggar is having trouble sleeping.

The 39-year-old former reality star uploaded a video to TikTok on Thursday (April 2) to discuss some of the details that have leaked recently related to Joseph‘s incarceration after he was taken into custody in March for sexual abuse accusations.

She continued, “Trauma doesn’t clock out, it doesn’t take nights off. It follows you into your sleep, into your dreams, into your bed, into your daytime, into every minute of the day.”

“This is why we can not normalize a surface-level apology because the pain, Joe, doesn’t disappear just because you’re in jail, for this sweet young girl,” Amy said. “And this is the cost of hiding behind power.”

Her comment appears to be in reference to jail audio obtained by Us Weekly that reportedly has the phone call between Joseph and his wife, Kendra Duggar, who was also charged alongside him.

“I felt like [the] past two nights, like not last night, but the two nights before that, there [were] people up all night, and it was really loud and stuff, but so I didn’t get good sleep,” he told her on the collect call.

In addition to Joseph being charged in connection with a child sexual abuse case from 2020 involving a then-9-year-old girl, who was on vacation with her family in Panama City Beach, Fla. at the time, he and Kendra have both been charged with multiple counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and false imprisonment.

In another call, he said he hadn’t been able to sleep because inmates were throwing “tantrums.”

“I didn’t get much sleep last night. There [were] some tantrums happening. All day yesterday, there’s one guy having this whole tantrum thing. I was kind of waiting till he went to sleep,” he said in another audio clip. “He got all processed through, and then I went to sleep for just a little while. I don’t know how long, really, but a little while.”

Jana Duggar is the latest family member to speak out about Joseph‘s child molestation charges.
