Gaten Matarazzo looks lovingly at girlfriend Elizabeth Yu while attending the Avatar: The Last Airbender season two premiere!
The 23-year-old Stranger Things star showed his support for his longtime love at her show’s premiere, which was held at Autry Museum of the American West in Griffith Park on Tuesday (June 23) in Los Angeles.
“The lewk for season 2 premiere (insert that one meme of the smiling monster with rainbows and tongue out),” Elizabeth wrote on Instagram with photos of her look.
She is wearing a Moschino dress with Jimmy Choo shoes and Nadri earrings.
Gaten kept it classic and chic in an all navy blue suit with black shoes.
Gaten recently opened up about how they maintain their long-distance relationship.
The actor told Chelsea Handler on her Dear Chelsea podcast that they “communicate really, really well” and learned how to be apart.
“A big key to it is thriving through distance,” he shared. “That’s kind of what we were thrust into early on. I was working on the show and was also simultaneously pursuing and starting her own career in the same industry.”
“So much of our work has to do with us leaving the city and being able to communicate through that and do it very well was kind of a tell-tale sign that this was working pretty well,” Gaten continued. “It’s very rare, I think, that it can feel good.”
“A lot of times, long-distance relationships usually fizzle out because it’s so hard not being in the same city as your person. And what’s great is that our home base is the same,” he added. “So anytime we go and travel for work, we know we’re coming back to each other here in the city.”
He also shared that they don’t live together, but they do live “very close to each other.”
