If you’ve read our review of the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro, you’ll know it’s one of our favorite controllers. Well, late last year, Razer finally dropped its long-awaited PlayStation cousin, the Raiju V3 Pro. I was beyond excited for this controller as I was so disappointed with the Wolverine V2 Pro for PlayStation that I could not in good conscience recommend it to anyone. That all changes with the Raiju V3 Pro.
Razer clearly heard the customer feedback and almost completely redesigned the Raiju V3 Pro. It carries over all our favorite things from the Wolverine, like Razer’s fantastic mecha-tactile buttons and eight-way floating D-pad, TMR thumbsticks (symmetrical, of course) with swappable caps, two-position triggers and the great ergonomics as well.
The four remappable back buttons and two top bumpers are here, too, but on the Raiju, Razer gives you the option to remove the back paddles if you don’t want to be distracted by them. You also get the extreme levels of software customization through the Razer Synapse app, which gives you nearly full control over the gaming experience.
My only complaints about the Raiju V3 Pro are the lack of a PS5 app to customize it (but that’s likely more Sony’s fault anyway), the lack of PS4 support and the price. The Raiju V3 Pro has a regular price of $219, which is certainly pricey, but in line with other pro models and, in my opinion, it’s worth every penny. It might not be the best for everyone, but it’s easily my favorite controller on this list.
