Kacey Musgraves is getting called out for her lack of size inclusivity in her latest fashion collaboration!
The 37-year-old country music star partnered with the brand Lee for an exclusive collection at Walmart. The “Kacey Lee” line features over 100 pieces, including dresses, tops, jeans, shorts, sleepwear, swimwear, and accessories for both men and women. There are even items for your pets! But not everyone is happy with the collection due to the size exclusivity!

Megan Ixim, who goes by @msgigggles on social media, slammed the size range for “Kacey Lee” on Instagram on May 19 — the same day the collection dropped. The women’s clothing goes up to a size 18/XXL, while the swimwear ranges from XS to 3X. That’s it, leaving Megan frustrated. She told her followers:
“Guess who’s being excluded again? That’s right, fat people. But don’t worry, they are selling extended sizes, but online, but from further review, very, very limited options, not the entire line. And it seems like the only true extended sizes are the swimwear instead of all of the other merch. I personally find this really upsetting because plus sizes and not selling them at Walmart seems really silly to me. I feel like that’s somewhere, historically, we’ve always found plus sizes.”
And this isn’t the first time the Mexico Honey artist did this, either! Megan noted that Kacey also ran limited sizes in her Reformation collab back in September 2024:
“There were extended sizes but with three designs instead of the entire line. I’m disappointed. Kacey, what’s going on?”

Kacey then offered up a pretty passive aggressive response in the comments of Megan’s video, saying:
“Hiii not in my control at all. Sorry you’re disappointed. Hope this helps!

“Oh, girl, that reaction is not it!
We understand Kacey may not have had the final say over the size range — though one could argue she could’ve pushed harder for it, especially since this collab is for her fans! And it is largely the brand’s fault for unfairly excluding a portion of its customers. We recognize all that. However, the musician could’ve left out the “hope this helps” remark. It comes across as so condescending and lacks a bit of empathy. Megan’s frustration is completely valid! Plus-size people deserve the same shopping experience as everyone else. Point blank. Period. For those saying things like it is what it is or that not every collaboration can accommodate everyone, that’s BS. If a brand can make swimwear up to a 3X, they can do the same for the other items in the same line. Just saying!
Megan went on to call out Kacey’s “disingenuous” response to the situation:
“@spaceykacey hey there. LOVE that you responded to a little ol influencer like me, but to say it’s out of your control feels disingenuous. As the person who is the entire reason and face of this launch it feels like this would be something you could push back on to @walmart or to @leejeans your plus-size fans love you, and we want to have our moment in the sun supporting you, in store, just like everyone else. Us asking for better isn’t a direct slight to you but a reason to work towards more true inclusivity in the future”
Exactly. Well said. She further expressed her disappointment with Kacey over the situation on TikTok over the weekend, saying:
“I’m the woman Kacey Musgraves basically told this week to go f**k herself, so let’s talk about it. My name is Megan Ixim, I’m Miss Giggles on social. I am a content creator, a fat activist, thanks Buzzfeed, and I have worked on and off in plus-size fashion over the last decade. I also was a Kacey Musgraves fan. I owned about five of the records on vinyl. I’ve seen her twice in concert. … Kacey recently launched a new collaboration with Walmart and Lee Jeans releasing a line coinciding with her new record release, and I personally was really excited about this because I loved the accessibility, the inclusivity that was claimed, I mean, it literally was in the original caption when it was launching to then be disappointed like so many of my plus-size peers when I realized this hundred-plus-piece collaboration only had a handful of items available in extended sizes. Then to find out after having friends physically go to the stores to look for these items in person that none of the plus items were going to be stocked or available in store.”
And what’s wild? Megan pointed out that there were “more items available for dogs than there were plus sizes!” WTF! Seeing that sparked Megan to create her initial video, which resulted in Kacey responding and leaving the content creator even more disappointed:
“One, absolutely shocked that somebody who is having a huge momentous time in their career responded to me. I am a very small content creator. I literally have no traction. I’ve been talking about fatness for a long time, so initially pretty cool to get a response until I realized how absolutely condescending this response was to me, our plus-size community, and her fans.”
Sadly, Megan shared that she is used to this kind of reaction and fat phobia from people:
“Is this normal behavior for someone like me, a fat Latina posting on the internet? Absolutely. Have I received a lot worse than this? Absolutely, every single day, and obviously everything that has followed since I’ve posted that video. But was I absolutely surprised to have this response from a media-trained pop star who should know better? Yeah, honestly, that shocked me a little bit, I’m not gonna lie, and for me really cemented the fact that fat phobia is a hell of a drug. I think if it was any other marginalized group calling out a lack of inclusivity, we would have never received this response, but because it’s me, a small, fat creator, calling out a lack of inclusivity, I mean, this is par for the course.”
Despite being hurt, she said Kacey hasn’t apologized for her comment, nor does she think the Grammy winner ever will. She also unfortunately doesn’t think much will happen when it comes to adding more sizes because “nobody really cares enough to do anything.” But Megan’s hopeful things could change eventually. She concluded:
“It stinks. I hope that conversations and talking about lack of inclusivity, and that we can do more. For example, the company, I’m going to pronounce it wrong, Blogilates, demanded plus sizes in store when they did their target launch. Megan The Stallion just did a Walmart launch and had exclusive sizes available in-store. We can and do more. We should ask more from our celebrity.”
And Megan’s right. So far, Kacey hasn’t publicly apologized or responded to the drama. Disappointing. Watch Megan’s clap back video (below):
@heymsgigggles It’s been a really exhausting time for me lately because I dared to call out a lack of inclusivity in a walmart line, but that’s what it means to be a “fat activist” being blasted on @buzzfeed as “rude” being untagged on @Daily Mail and watching people argue about your right to clothe your body on @Reddit It’s par for the course, but for the first time it actually felt like people were ready to back me up and support me against blatant disregard from a pop-star, and that was really cool.
