Millie Bobby Brown is coming to her husband’s defense.
The 22-year-old actress appeared on the Thursday (June 11) episode of Kylie Kelce‘s Not Gonna Lie podcast to talk about some of the criticism that has been aimed at her husband Jake Bongiovi by people online.
Jake, who is the son of Jon Bon Jovi, previously faced backlash when viral photos from August 2025 showed Millie carrying two backpacks and a car seat, and Jake seemingly not helping her out. There have also been other photos from that showed Millie pushing her daughter’s stroller and carrying her things alone.
“Hi, I’m Millie Bobby Brown and I’m not gonna lie, when did women become incapable of holding their own bags, car seats and stuff?” she said in a clip from the podcast.
Millie went on to say Jake is “the most polite, sweet, will-do-anything-for-me” guy, but he also knows she’s “capable” of handling things on her own.
“Nobody knows my husband,” she said.
“This stems from me holding all of my suitcases and bags and my kid and people are like, ‘Your husband doesn’t hold a single thing.’ And I’m like, ‘Because I’m three miles ahead. I have been planning this all night,’” the Stranger Things star continued. “We’re all about empowering girls and, ‘You got it’ and ‘You don’t need a man.’ But then when I’m like, ‘OK, I can carry my own things,’ people are like, ‘Where’s your husband?’”
