Lauren Silverman is reflecting on becoming pregnant with her now fiance Simon Cowell‘s child while married to her ex husband Adam.
Simon and Lauren welcomed their son, Eric, in February of 2014. At the time, it was said Simon was friends with Adam.
Lauren reflected on learning she was pregnant
“There are so many emotions that went with that, because it was the end of my marriage, obviously. It was one of the hardest times of my life, because — I don’t want to say regretful, because I don’t regret anything — do I wish it had happened a different way … of course I do,” she said on a recent episode of Happy Mum podcast.
She added, “But I think everything happens for a reason. It was just one of those moments where I knew it was right and that was what I wanted and that Simon was the person I wanted to spend my life with. And so, however we got there, I just believed that it was meant to be.”
She also reflected on the terrible divorce she went through
“When I got divorced … it wasn’t a great situation at all. It was terrible. I feel really proud to say that … we are many years past that point. My ex and I, we do have a very nice relationship.”
“As much as I wish I could go back and take away the hurt and take away the pain that it caused for my ex-husband and for Adam … it happened,” she said.
She added that she did not enjoy her pregnancy due to the stress of it all
“[I was] in fight or flight mode because there was so much interest in what was happening … I was just trying not to fall apart. Everywhere I went … it was just the way that people would look at me. I was on the cover of every magazine and there were news stories about it … it was just awful,” she shared.
She then added, “I felt like, ‘Okay, this has happened. I’m a big girl. I’ve got to suck it up and get on with it. And whatever’s coming at me, I deserve it, I’ll take it and I’ll just keep my head down.’ And that’s what I did for a really long time.”
