Best fuel rewards programs in the US


There are many ways to save on gas purchases. And as fuel prices rise and summer road trips grow closer, these savings can become even more valuable.

In addition to using one of the best gas credit cards — or a cobranded card offered by your favorite nearby gas station chain, if it provides better value — joining fuel rewards programs can also be worthwhile.

In this article, we’ll discuss fuel rewards programs available across most or all of the U.S., with no paid memberships or requirements to carry specific credit cards. This means we may miss your favorite regional or local gas station’s rewards program, and we won’t discuss the discounts available to members of warehouse clubs (such as Sam’s Club and Costco). Read on for an overview of some of the most popular fuel rewards programs.

BP Earnify

The BP Earnify program lets you earn points and enjoy fuel discounts at BP and Amoco stations when you pay with the app, swipe a linked payment card or enter your loyalty ID (linked phone number) at the pump. Specifically, the program lets you save 5 cents per gallon, earn 1 point per dollar spent on fuel and earn 2 points per dollar spent at the convenience store.

You can redeem points for savings at the pump or in the convenience store. Redemption options vary, but users report they can often redeem 200 points for a $2 discount on fuel or in-store purchases. This makes BP Earnify points worth about 1 cent each. Just keep in mind that points typically expire after three months of account inactivity.

Casey’s Rewards

The Casey’s Rewards program lets you earn 5 points per gallon of fuel at Casey’s stations, and 10 points per dollar spent on in-store or online orders with Casey’s. Plus, you’ll earn double points on all whole pizzas from Casey’s, and new members get 10 cents off per gallon on their first fuel purchase (up to 20 gallons).

You can redeem 250 points for $1 in Casey’s Cash, a fuel discount of 5 cents per gallon (on up to 20 gallons in a single purchase) or a $1 donation to a local school, so each point is worth 0.4 cents. Your points expire if you don’t make a Casey’s Rewards purchase for a year, but redeemed rewards (like Casey’s Cash and fuel discounts) expire 30 days after you earn them.

Chevron Texaco Rewards

The Chevron Texaco Rewards program offers 5 points per gallon of Chevron or Texaco fuel when you make the fuel purchases via the app or enter your account phone number at the pump or in-store at the register. You can also earn points through in-store and achievement offers, which vary; you can find them on the program’s website or app.

New members enjoy 25 cents off per gallon on their first five visits. You can also redeem points for discounts on qualifying fuel purchases at participating Chevron and Texaco locations, up to 500 points for 50 cents off per gallon (on up to 25 gallons in a single purchase). If you purchase 25 gallons of fuel when redeeming 500 points, each point is worth 2.5 cents. However, keep in mind that rewards expire after just 90 days of account inactivity.

Circle K Inner Circle Rewards

If you don’t want to worry about earning and redeeming rewards, the Circle K Inner Circle Rewards program might be for you.

You’ll save 25 cents per gallon on your first five fuel-ups at participating Circle K stations once you join Inner Circle Rewards. After that, you’ll save 3 cents per gallon on up to 35 gallons per day if you spend less than $500 on gas at participating Circle K stations per year. If you spend $500 or more, you’ll save 5 cents per gallon on up to 35 gallons per day.

Inner Circle Rewards members can also benefit from 79-cent Polar Pop drinks (up to 44 ounces) and current member challenges, which are available on the website or app. With the challenges, you can save money on gas once you meet specific thresholds or goals.

Exxon Mobil Rewards+

The Exxon Mobil Rewards+ program lets you earn 3 points per gallon on regular gas and 6 points per gallon on premium gas. Plus, you’ll earn 2 points per dollar spent on other purchases at participating Exxon and Mobil stations.

However, AARP members earn an additional point per gallon at the pump and per dollar in the store. Plus, Frequent Filler members earn an additional point per gallon at the pump and 2 points per dollar in-store. To earn Frequent Filler status, you must have purchased 100 or more gallons of Synergy fuel in either the current or previous calendar month.

Be sure to enter your birthday in your Exxon Mobil Rewards+ profile, and you’ll earn 100 bonus points each year on your first eligible purchase in your birth month.

Each point is worth 1 cent, and you can redeem for savings in-store or at the pump. However, you must redeem at least 100 points at a time, and unredeemed points expire at the end of the calendar year after the one in which you earned them. So, points you earn in 2026 will expire Dec. 31, 2027.

Kroger Fuel Points

The Kroger Fuel Points program lets you earn when shopping at the more than 20 regional brands within the Kroger family of stores, including popular brands like Ralphs, Fred Meyer, King Soopers and Harris Teeter. TPG writer Augusta Stone says she enjoys racking up points on her grocery hauls, as the program offers 1 point per dollar spent on most groceries.

Plus, you can earn 25 points per non-federally-funded prescription filled, 1 point per dollar on out-of-pocket costs for federally funded prescriptions and 75 points per 90-day prescription filled. You’ll also earn 2 points per dollar spent on select gift cards; plus, you can earn by engaging in qualifying activities with participating Kroger Play brands or via promotional Fuel Events.

You’ll get a discount of 3 cents per gallon when filling up at Kroger Family of Stores Fuel Centers if you don’t redeem points. Meanwhile, you can redeem points at Kroger Family of Stores Fuel Centers and participating Shell locations at a rate of 10 cents off per gallon (for a single fill-up of unleaded, midgrade, premium, diesel or E85 fuel of up to 35 gallons) for 100 points. You can redeem up to 1,000 points per transaction at Kroger Family of Stores Fuel Centers, while each redemption at participating Shell locations is capped at 100 points.

Points expire at the end of the month following the one in which you earn them. So, points that you earn in March expire at the end of April.

Love’s Rewards

The Love’s Rewards program for casual (nonprofessional) drivers lets you earn points at Love’s locations when you scan your barcode at the pump or inside the store. Specifically, you’ll earn 1 point per gallon of fuel and 2 points per dollar spent in-store (plus 2 additional points per dollar spent on Love’s-branded items and freshly made meals and snacks).

Love’s Rewards members enjoy a discount of 10 cents per gallon on gas and a discount of up to 25 cents per gallon on auto diesel. Plus, Love’s Rewards members also benefit from a buy-four, earn-one promotion on any size fountain or coffee drink.

You can redeem points at a rate of 1 cent each toward food, drinks and in-store merchandise and at Love’s-owned restaurants. Love’s Rewards points expire after six months without earning or redemption transactions.

Shell Fuel Rewards

The Shell Fuel Rewards program lets you earn discounts on fuel via various methods. However, all Shell Fuel Rewards savings are limited to 20 gallons of fuel per purchase, per vehicle.

You can earn status in the Fuel Rewards program, which unlocks additional discounts. Specifically, Silver members save 3 cents per gallon, Gold members save 5 cents per gallon and Platinum members save 10 cents per gallon.

You’ll start with Silver status, but you can earn Gold status by filling up six times with main-grade fuel or three times with Shell V-Power premium gasoline within each three-month qualification period. You can earn Platinum status once you fill up 12 times with main-grade fuel or six times with Shell V-Power premium gasoline. Each fill-up must be at least 10 gallons to count toward earning status.

TPG Director of Travel Content Eric Rosen says he enjoys getting up to a 15-cents-per-gallon discount each Tuesday by stacking the weekly T-Mobile Tuesdays discount (which gives a code worth 5 cents off per gallon for up to 20 gallons) with Shell Fuel Rewards status (which gives up to a 10-cents-per-gallon discount).

You can also earn additional fuel discounts when you make in-store purchases at Shell stations, dine at participating restaurants and pay with a linked card (a 10 cents-per-gallon discount for every $50 spent), and shop with a linked participating grocery loyalty program (such as Giant Flexible Rewards, Stop & Shop Go Rewards, Save Mart Rewards, Lucky Rewards and Hy-Vee Perks). You can also link your AAA or AARP membership to save 5 cents per gallon on fill-ups.

Through the end of 2026, new Shell Fuel Rewards members who sign up through a special offer enjoy a 10-cents-per-gallon discount on their first fill-up, a 20-cents-per-gallon discount on their second fill-up and a 30-cents-per-gallon discount on their third fill-up — although all three fill-ups must be within 60 days of signing up for the program.

Speedway Speedy Rewards

The Speedway Speedy Rewards program lets you earn 10 points per gallon of fuel and 20 points per dollar spent on merchandise. Plus, you can earn bonus points on select items each month through special deals, so be sure to check the website or app regularly.

The value of Speedy Rewards points depends on how you redeem them. For example, you could redeem 1,000 points for any size fountain drink, a Speedy Freeze or a Speedy Cafe Large Pizza; 4,375 points for a 25-cents-per-gallon discount on fuel; or 30,000 points for a $25 Amazon gift card. So, be sure to compare your options before you redeem.

Speedy Rewards points expire once your account is inactive for at least nine months.

Sunoco Go Rewards

The Sunoco Go Rewards program lets you save 3 cents per gallon on up to 35 gallons per transaction when you pay for fuel through the Sunoco app. However, for a limited time, you can save 13 cents per gallon on up to 35 gallons per transaction when you link your bank account in the Sunoco Go Rewards app, set Sunoco Pay as your preferred payment method and purchase fuel using your linked bank account.

You can also earn discounts on gas when you use your favorite grocery store’s loyalty card at the pump. However, unlike most of the other fuel rewards programs in this article, the Sunoco Go Rewards program won’t provide any value unless you’re willing to pay for fuel through its app.

7Rewards

The 7Rewards program gives members a discount of 3 cents per gallon on gas when they press the 7Rewards button at the pump and enter their phone number before fueling.

There may be opportunities for new and existing members to unlock additional fuel savings, too. For example, TPG Senior Editorial Director Nick Ewen uses 7Rewards and said, “I signed up for text messages, and I’ll get discounts at least a couple of times a month. Last Thursday, I got a text offering 11 cents off per gallon on my next two fill-ups. I activated it and just have to punch in my cell number at the pump.”

You can also earn 10 7Rewards points per dollar spent on select in-store purchases at 7-Eleven stations (excluding fuel) when you scan your 7Rewards barcode or enter the phone number registered to your 7Rewards account at checkout. However, you can only redeem points for in-store purchases — not fuel. They expire if you don’t earn or redeem points for 90 days. Points are worth 0.1 cents each, so 1,000 points can get you $1 off an in-store purchase.

Bottom line

Most fuel rewards programs offer discounts on fuel or let you earn rewards on fuel purchases — and some even let you do both. The ability to stack discounts from various sources makes the Shell Fuel Rewards program popular. But honestly, I recommend just enrolling in the programs associated with the gas stations you frequent most. And if you often take road trips, consider choosing one or two programs that offer enough stations along your route and tend to provide the services you need.

Why do we need sap workflows in business processes?

Workflow is required in business processes in SAP for a variety of reasons. Wait time is the longest duration in any business process.

Raising a Purchase Order, an Invoice, and a Sales Order all require approval from specific stakeholders and involve multiple steps. As a result, a significant amount of time is added to the cycle.
Auditing and Compliance – Areas at which auditing is needed or specific compliance must be based on court rules, SOX, and so on. They are difficult to manage with manual business processes.
Processes that require regular repeated steps and adhere to specific business rules are referred to as specific processes. For example, when you create a new BP, you must specify contact information, a credit limit, and other details to help you manage the process. SAP Workflow is recommended for managing these specific processes.

Companies can easily address these issues by utilizing SAP Workflows, as well as perform detailed reporting such as implementing time, wait time, and so on.

The SAP Workflow architecture in the SAP Application system is made up of the following layers:

  • Business Object
  • Business Process
  • Organization Model 

In SAP Business Workflow, a Business Object is a collection of methods or events for an entity in the business process. Customer, Material, and Vendor are some of the most common Business Objects in the SAP system.

Business processes in SAP Workflow are defined in the Workflow Builder. Each work process is referred to as an activity, and it consists of a single step task or workflow template. Business logic is defined in Business Objects using ABAP code.

People or groups of people are responsible for taking actions in a Business Workflow in the organization model. People who are in charge of taking action are referred to as actual agents, and they are defined in the workflow activity in the Business Workflow.

Each object in the SAP system comes with a standard set of events and methods for performing actions on that object. The most common methods and events are as follows:

  • Change, Display, Get Details, and Create are all methods.
  • Created and Modified Events 

Business Objects are known in SAP systems to reduce the complexity of the SAP system by dividing it into smaller units. These properties are shared by all business objects.

  • Object Type ID It is used to identify the business object internally.
  • Object Name It is used to externally identify the business object. The external system can interact with the SAP system by using this property.

The lowest level in SAP Workflow architecture seems to be the business object, which is located at the bottom level. In SAP Business Workflow, a Business Object is defined as a collection of methods or events for an entity in a business process. Customer, Material, and Vendor are some of the most common Business Objects in a SAP system. All services are provided in the form of executable methods when Business Objects are used.

A Business Object Repository is an object-oriented approach for modeling Business Objects and Processes. It is a collection of Business Object and Interface types, as well as their associated attributes, methods, and events.

Business processes are at the middle level of the Workflow architecture, defining the steps to be performed as part of the Workflow. The Workflow Builder is used to define business processes.Each work process is referred to as an activity, and it consists of a single step task or the workflow template. Business logic is defined in Business Objects using ABAP code.

The top layer of the SAP Workflow architecture is the organization model. People or groups of people are responsible for taking actions in a Business Workflow in an organizational model. People who are in charge of taking action are referred to as actual agents, and they are defined in the Business Workflows workflow activity.

Using Business Object Builder, you can develop new Business Objects. Events in Business Objects are in charge of both the initial start and the termination of the workflow.Events are also used to trigger the execution of subsequent tasks in the workflow. All tasks defined in the Workflow will be executed in the order specified in the Workflow definition.

Components of sap workflow:

Business processes in SAP Workflow are defined in the Workflow Builder. Each step is defined as an activity in the Workflow builder. Each activity defines a single-step task or workflow template.

  • Organizational plan
  • Workflow builder
  • Standard task and events triggering 

Each step throughout the workflow definition can be a task that points to a SAP transaction or decision. A decision may include agent specifications and deadline monitoring for a step. The workflow is initiated either manually or automatically by the system at runtime. In order for the system to initiate a workflow, the workflow definition must include a triggering event.

Whenever an event occurs, the appropriate workflow is initiated automatically. Tasks or work items describe the activities involved and can refer to methods that can be executed automatically or methods that must be executed by a user . Tasks are business objects that are coded in ABAP.

Events are activities that initiate a workflow – one or more workflows at the same time. When the workflow is triggered, the definition flowchart determines when and how work is completed. After that, work items are received and executed in MS Outlook, Lotus Notes, mySAP Workflow MiniApp, or the SAP integrated inbox.

Conversely, the workflow system will send e-mail alerts to any mail system, informing the user that they must log in to the SAP system in order to complete the task. Every work item is assigned to one or more users. When the task is completed, the work item is removed from the inboxes of the other users.

Integration to email systems:

Workflow inboxes are typically populated with executable work items. However, casual SAP users, particularly managers, may forget to check their inbox on a regular basis, so it’s a good idea to set up reminder emails, informing people via a batch job that they have work items in their inbox. Alternatively, an email with a hotlink to the Workflow can be sent directly to their Lotus Notes / Outlook account.All emails are sent out of SAP through SAPConnect, whether they are Workflow notifications, Workflow Workitems, or just a standard SAP Office memo. This provides a one-stop shop for connecting SAP and the mail server.

Transporting workflow items between SAPConnect and the mail server (whether Lotus Notes or Microsoft Outlook) has been made easier by SAP-supplied add-ons that are fully optimized for the different protocols required by each server. Lotus Notes, for example, makes use of a “pipe” known as the MTA, or Message Transfer Agent. This was created in collaboration between SAP and Lotus to provide full integration.

It is important to note that the type of transport medium used is determined by the mail server, not the mail client. In other words, if an employee uses Outlook on their computer but the mail server is a Lotus Domino server, the MTA will be used as a mail gateway. Each workflow background user’s user profile must include an email address.It is important to note that no approval or reply notification from an external mail system will be permitted in other words, external email systems will be unable to respond back to SAP for security reasons.

Creating the sap workflow:

The following are the steps in order to create the workflow. They are:

1.Define Organization Plan  (T-code PPOCE)

This transaction is the most straightforward way to define an organizational plan in the SAP system. You must enter the start date of the Organization unit and then click the Green tick mark, as shown in the screenshot below.

2. Create Workflow template: (T-code PFTC_INS) to create a basic template of workflow,

(T-code SWDD) to build the workflow in the workflow builder

Select the Workflow template in the Task type field. To create tasks: Select Standard Task from the Task type drop-down menu and click Create.

Navigate to T-Code: SWDD to begin building the workflow in the workflow builder.

Step types are different options in the Workflow Builder that you can drag and drop and insert into the Workflow.

3. Define 1st task  (T-code PFTC_INS) (Create notification of absence)

To define the first task, navigate to T-Code: PFTC_INS

Select Standard Task in the Task type field.

Enter the following values and Save the task. Once you save the task, you will get code ID in number 93XXX989

  • In the Name field, select Form_created
  • In Abbr, select create_form
  • In Workitem text, select vik_notif_absence-create
  • In Object Type, select FORMABSENC
  • In Method field, select CREATE
  • Checkbox Synchronous object method, Object method with dialog checked 

4. Add activity > first task in the workflow

You must add an activity to your workflow in place of the undefined step in the Workflow.

Step Properties allows you to select various options based on your needs. Select the checkbox – Advance with dialog, as shown in the screenshot above. It demonstrates that the workflow work item is immediately available for processing.

Because we entered WF INITIATOR in Expression under Agents, the person who will initiate the workflow is one of the workitem recipients. There is also a binding option defined that confirms absence notification is not only in this task but also in the workflow – _WI ObjectId &ABSENCEFORM&.

In graphical mode, the Workflow Builder now looks like this:

5. 1st Test in SAP Inbox (T-code SBWP)

Now that the workflow has been executed, workitems such as e-mails are created in the SAP Inbox. When it is executed, it invokes the corresponding task or transaction screen. When you run this workflow, the notification of absence form appears.

To cancel the processing of the first notification, click Cancel. The workflow inbox contains one item for processing – creating an absence notification. Select the workitem and press the Execute button (F8). This will take you back to the “Create notification of absence screen,” where the notification of absence form will be displayed. Fill out the form with your information and save it. The Workitem will be removed from the inbox as a result of this action.

6. Define 2nd task  (Check notification of absence)

Using the object formabsenc-approve, the created form will be sent to the supervisor for approval. Next, use T-Code: PFTC INS to create a new task.

7. Add activity > second task in workflow

Using the task code generated in the previous step, add Task “Check Notification of Absence in the Workflow.”

Define the binding properties as well, as shown in the screenshot below.

8. 2nd Test

The workflow will then be executed, and you will be directed to the workitem for creating notification of absence for processing. This is due to the Advancing with immediate dialog option being selected when creating a task.

Navigate to Business Workplace using the approver’s user-id to see the workitem to process and other attributes to include in the Workitem. Choose Execute after selecting the workitem for checking the notification of absence.

Reject or approve the request. Take note of the two buttons: Accept and Reject.

9. Integrate User Decision for Re-submit

If the approver rejects the leave request, you can also add the user decision to the rejected output. This gives the requester the opportunity to make changes and resubmit the request for approval.

10. 3rd Test

When a request is denied, the next step is for the user to make a decision. Because we specified (&WF INITIATOR&) as the step’s agent, the request will be sent back to us for a decision. You have two choices. Requests should be revised or withdrawn.

11. Define 3rd task  (Revise notification of absence)

13. Add 4th Customer Task (Send Notification for approval of leave)

To send a notification, you must add a new step called “Send mail.” You must drag this step to the Undefined Step – following the result of the step “Check notification of absence.”

To add this step, you have to make the following entries −

  • Select the Recipient type − Enter the Organizational object
  • Select Agents → Choose the Expression &_WF_INITIATOR&.
  • Enter the subject line as <“Leave Approved”>
  • Enter the email text as <“Approved”>

When you press the Enter key, you will be prompted to enter the task’s name and abbreviation.
