The weekend before, Charles raced in the 2026 Formula 1 MSC Cruises Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain, where he unfortunately did not finish the grand prix.

However, his Scuderia Ferrari HP teammate Lewis Hamilton picked up his first win since joining the team last year!

Coming up later this week, Charles will be heading to Spielberg, Austria, where the next F1 race – the 2026 Formula 1 Lenovo Austrian Grand Prix – will be taking place.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Charles has extended his contract with Ferrari on a new multi-year deal. This will take him beyond 2028, continuing his streak of holding the longest contract in the team’s history!

The driver currently holds the second most starts with Ferrari at 157, just behind Michael Schumacher at 180. Charles is set to surpass Michael with his new contract.

He currently ranks in 4th place in the 2026 Formula 1 driver’s championship, behind George Russell in third, Lewis Hamilton in second and Kimi Antonelli in first. Ferrari is second in the constructor’s championship, with 190 points, behind Mercedes with 262.
