Denodo: A  data virtualization platform

Data virtualization is a core technology that enables modern data integration and data management solutions.

Here we are going to list a few factors of data virtualization:

  • Connect, introspect, and govern any data source with zero data replication: Quickly connect disparate structured and unstructured sources. Catalog your entire data ecosystem. Data stays in the sources and it is accessed on-demand, with no need to create another copy.
  • Combine and integrate into business data views:Build data models that suit the needs of the consumer, even across multiple sources. Hide the complexity of your back-end technologies from the end users.
  • Consume and secure data views in multiple formats:The virtual model can be secured and consumed using standard SQL and other formats like REST, SOAP, and OData.

Denodo cloud deployment options:

Denodo Cloud data virtualization can be deployed to support a distributed information architecture that is on-premise, hybrid cloud, or multi-cloud to accommodate a variety of factors such as the location of the data sources and the users, consuming applications, the volume, and the type of queries, just to name a few.

Options for deploying Denodo Cloud data virtualization include:

  • Using Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) leveraging BYOL (Bring your License).
  • Using the Cloud Marketplace.

Let us discuss them one by one:

The “BYOL” approach requires the user to purchase a subscription license directly from Denodo. If you choose to go via the marketplace, you will need to purchase your subscription on the cloud marketplace of your choice. Take a look at the differentiating factors between the two approaches to help you decide which would work best for you:

IAAS/ BYOL (Bring Your License):
  • The customer does the installation leveraging cloud infrastructure services
  • Pricing/licensing flexibility for complex deployments
  • Non-production environments are included in the subscription price.
Cloud Marketplace:
  • Get started in minutes using self-service options
  • Pre-configured Denodo Cloud data virtualization for AWS Cloud (Amazon machine images – AMI), Microsoft Azure (Virtual machine), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Lower entry point, reduced risk, and utility-based hourly pricing options (Pay as you Go)
  • Free trial available.

Denodo for AWS cloud platform:

Deploy and configure your Denodo hybrid cloud data virtualization system in the AWS cloud quickly with Denodo 8’s automated cloud infrastructure management. Leverage quickly to launch Denodo images optimized for AWS and Amazon’s flexible time-based licensing options. Denodo’s data virtualization for AWS can be used by the hour, by subscription, or BYOL (bring your license).
