Ariana Madix is back as the Love Island USA host for season eight, and if you’re wondering about her own dating life, we’ve got you covered!
The 40-year-old former Vanderpump Rules star was famously in a long term relationship with Tom Sandoval, before she broke up with him after finding out he was cheating with their friend Rachel Leviss. The whole ordeal was then dubbed Scandoval.
A couple months after their split, Ariana moved on and starting dating a new man – Daniel Wai.
Who is Daniel Wai?
Daniel Wai is a personal trainer and fitness coach based out of New York City.
In addition, Daniel also opened up the Little More bar in NYC as a co-owner back in 2024.
When did Ariana and Daniel meet?
Ariana and Daniel met at a mutual friend’s wedding in Mexico in March 2023. They were then spotted kissing at Coachella the next month, and have been together ever since!
While he is based in NYC and she’s based in Los Angeles, they travel back and forth to spend time together.
“He is so incredible. He’s so smart. He’s so supportive. He’s so cute. He’s just constantly in my corner,” Ariana told People previously about what makes their long distance relationship worth it.
“And he’s someone that I look up to and I feel like would be—if someone were to have told me five years ago before I ever met him I’m dating this guy, I’d be like, ‘Wow,’” she added. “I would love him for anyone because he is so amazing and so what makes it worth it is just that time I get to spend with him.”
Ahead of the Love Island USA season, Ariana shared an update about their relationship while appearing on her friends’ podcast Disrespectfully.
“He’s going to come over my birthday [which is June 24] again, which I feel like is a good time to come to Fiji,” she said. “So, he’s coming to LA to basically help me pack and get ready, and then he’ll send me off and then he’s going to come to Fiji over my birthday, which yeah, I feel like it works out well because in the beginning it’s super super busy.”
She continued, “We shoot the intro, there’s all the stuff that we have to do like leading up to the premiere and then that premiere week, I’m usually in there a lot. So, it’s like the premiere night, usually maybe if there’s some sort of twist, that first after sun like that first week can be pretty hectic. So, the first time that he came out, we realized that wasn’t really the best time.”
“He’s gonna come out around my birthday for like two weeks, I think. And that’ll be fun,” Ariana said. “But both of us have been kind of splitting our time back and forth between here and New York. So, wouldn’t even consider us to be long distance really at this point. So, that’s been really nice, ’cause he’s here a lot.”
